In Georgia, the 19-year-old British citizen arrested on a drug-smuggling charge, pregnant Bella May Culley, is free.

The decision was made by Tbilisi City Court judge Giorgi Gelashvili.

Bella May Culley was released on the basis of a plea deal. However, she was found guilty of the charge presented. She was sentenced to 5 months and 24 days of imprisonment, but this term was counted as already served since her detention.

As an additional penalty, Bella May Culley was fined 500,000 lari.

The accused woman answered “yes” in court to the judge’s questions about whether she admits the crime and whether she is aware of the legal details of the plea deal.

According to the charge, Kali faced up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

Bella Culley is in her 35th week of pregnancy.

Bella May Culley was stopped at Tbilisi International Airport after 12 kg (26 pounds) of marijuana and 2 kg (4.4 pounds) of hashish were found in her luggage. Kali had earlier stated that she was forced to smuggle the drugs under torture.
