Director of Anaklia Development Agency, David Javakhadze has said that the date of a new tender on Anaklia deep sea port will be known in about two weeks.

As Javakhadze told the Interpressnews, work is underway to announce interest expression on Anaklia deep sea port and international financial institutions are involved in the process.

“We usually continue to work on preparing a new tender. It also depends on the involvement of different international banks. In the next two weeks we expect information from the EBRD on what they can offer in this regard. There may be an offer regarding the technical assistance in the tender process. In addition, we should discuss procedures provided by public-private partnership. Our agency has already done a great job in terms of bidding,” he said.

By the decision of the Government of Georgia the Anaklia Port Development Agency has been subordinated to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. The Anaklia Deepwater Port Development Agency was subordinated to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development since 2017 and it monitored the contract with the Anaklia Development Consortium.

The Government of Georgia has decided to terminate its contract with the Anaklia Development Consortium, Deputy Prime-Minister, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Maia Tskitishvili told reporters on January 9.
