According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, former Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic, Tornike Rijvadze, was admitted to Sagarejo GeoHospitals with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The ministry reports that Tornike Rijvadze received emergency medical treatment. According to doctors, he has sustained lung damage and his condition is described as critically stable.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to incitement to suicide.
“On July 7, Tornike Rijvadze was admitted to Sagarejo GeoHospitals with a gunshot wound to the chest.
An investigation has been launched under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns incitement to suicide. Intensive investigative actions are underway regarding the incident.
Tornike Rijvadze received emergency medical care. According to doctors, he has suffered lung damage and his health condition remains critically stable.
Additionally, one person has been arrested as a suspect under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Georgia for negligent storage of a firearm,” the statement reads.
