Political justice is rushing to issue hasty verdicts for prisoners of conscience in a series of parallel court proceedings, wrote Georgia’s fifth President, Salome Zurabishvili, on the social platform X.

According to her, judges have been publicly given instructions by political leaders.

“No evidence, no convincing charges, and political leaders have publicly given instructions to the judges. Russian-style ‘justice’!” Zurabishvili wrote.

For context, the country’s fifth President, Salome Zurabishvili, is attending the trial of 11 individuals detained on charges of group violence at the Tbilisi City Court.
