The American Republican congressman, Joe Wilson, introduced an amendment on the “non-recognition of the Georgian nightmare” into the U.S. State Department Authorization Act.
“I am very grateful that my amendment on the ‘non-recognition of the Georgian nightmare’ was adopted for inclusion in the State Department Authorization Act,” Wilson wrote on the social platform X.
“Parallel to the acceptance of Communist China, Iran, and Russia, insulting America is a one-way ticket toward isolation,” Wilson wrote.
The text of the amendment states that no U.S. official should take any action aimed at recognizing the government of “Georgian Dream.”
“No federal official or employee may take any action, nor may any federal funds be allocated for the purpose of recognizing or otherwise implying recognition by the United States of the government in Georgia operating under the leadership of ‘Georgian Dream,’” the amendment says.
