The former First Lady of Georgia, Sandra Roelofs, has broken her silence on her relationship with Georgian ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili, stating that his announcement of a new relationship with a Ukrainian MP was ‘unexpected’.

According to Georgian senior lawmaker, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on European Integration, Levan Karumidze, "from the point of view of a hopeless romantic, this is a sad story."

He is perceived by his supporters as a political leader but in reality, Saakashvili has established himself as a cult leader. In such cults, the leaders choose women themselves, and they believe that women are property and that every woman is owned by them first, and then by anyone else. For Misha, this goes way beyond sex or gender – he believes that he is entitled to everything and everyone, be it women, men, cars, real estate, or power. He is not a democrat, never was and never will be. Not just because of his actions while in office, but because of this very attitude towards women," he said in a tweet.
