Parliament adopts package of legislative proposals "On Assemblies and Manifestations" in 1st reading

The Georgian Parliament adopted the package of legislative proposals “On Assemblies and Manifestations” in the first reading.
A total of 75 deputies voted for the changes, whereas 23 voted against them.
According to the bill, the participants of the assembly or demonstration are prohibited from setting up a temporary construction if it poses a risk to assembly or demonstration participants or other individuals; inhibits police efforts to maintain public order and security; disrupts the usual operation of the business, institution, or organisation;
The Parliament will consider the bill in an accelerated manner.
