Mikheil Kavelashvili refuses to proceed with the constitutional lawsuit filed by Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, regarding the annulment of the "Foreign Influence Transparency" law.

According to a statement released by Mikheil Kavelashvili’s press office:

"The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has rejected the constitutional lawsuit initiated by former President Salome Zurabishvili, which aimed to annul Georgia’s 'Foreign Influence Transparency' law.

This law is based on the principles of transparency and accountability, which help safeguard the core foundation of Georgia’s statehood—national sovereignty—and ensure the country’s stable development.

The law serves to maximize public awareness regarding the sources of funding for organizations promoting the interests of foreign entities

Accordingly, the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has decided to withdraw the constitutional lawsuit."
