
Georgia's MFA condemns Russian Duma Chair's trip to occupied Abkhazia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a statement regarding the arrival of the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, in the occupied region of Abkhazia.
According to MFA, the mentioned fact represents another gross violation of the fundamental principles and norms of international law on the part of Moscow.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia strongly condemns the arrival of the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, in the occupied region of Abkhazia, as a violation of the state border of Georgia, which represents another gross violation by Moscow of the fundamental principles and norms of international law, the continuation of the policy of violating the territorial integrity of the sovereign state and international obligations, among them, another fact of neglecting the agreement on the cease-fire of August 12, 2008, brokered by the European Union," reads the statement.
