The US has handed over rescue equipment to the Georgian Emergency Management Service.

"We handed over rescue equipment to the Georgian Emergency Management Service. The equipment included light towers for nighttime operations, water pumps and backpacks for fighting fires in mountainous regions, and computers for the Emergency Operation Center.This assistance is part of several ongoing projects, aimed at assisting the Georgian Emergency Management Service, totaling $500,000. The United States remains committed to supporting Georgia in strengthening the country's emergency preparedness", U.S. Embassy to Georgia said in a statement.
