On June 17, the Ivanishvili-Kuprashvili Bureau began enforcing anti-constitutional Russian laws through the Murusidze court, - representatives of non-governmental organizations said at the briefing held at the Civil Society Foundation office.
According to them, the Anti-Corruption Bureau is demanding the transfer of personal information of citizens under their protection without legal grounds. According to representatives of the third sector, they are resorting to legal means against these orders because they “do not intend to live according to Russian laws.”
“They are demanding from us, human rights defenders, without any legal basis, the transfer of personal information of citizens under our protection - victims of torture, women victims of violence, pupils, students, teachers, pensioners, disabled people, entrepreneurs, whistleblowers, journalists, observers, illegally dismissed civil servants and their family members. In particular, the transfer of personal numbers, names, surnames, photographs, financial and banking information and health information of all those people who trusted us and who have enjoyed our help.
We are not going to betray the trust of citizens under our protection, even if this results in our persecution and arrest.
We will not transfer information about people oppressed by the Ivanishvili regime to the Russian regime. We will resort to legal means against these orders.
For us, their goal is clear - Ivanishvili is trying to destroy free civil society in Georgia, exactly as the Bolsheviks did it in the 1920s, and exactly as the Putin and Lukashenko regimes did it in the last decade. We declare once again that we are not going to live according to Russian laws, accept the sabotage of Georgia's European future, and will continue to fight to protect the rights of the Georgian people," several non-governmental organizations said in a statement.
