The Ministry of Defense of Georgia has said that the information spread by the the Mtavari television channel regarding the issue of the US military base is "a complete lie".

According to the Mtavari television channel, in 2021 Georgia refused to build the US military base in the country.

"The information spread in the media, concerns the topic of US-Georgia military-political relations, and is a complete lie in its content.

The mentioned information is spread by a politically biased person, which is then used by individual media outlets and politically motivated persons to launch a disinformation campaign.

We call on the public to rely on verified information, especially when discussing such an important topic," the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
